Recommended / Useful LinksChemistry Websites http://www.webelements.com - online periodic table that has detailed information about each and every element. SDBS - One of my all time favorite sites. It contains a huge database of NMR, IR and GCMS spectra for almost every compound imaginable. You can also search by a huge number of criteria. Extremely Useful. ACD - ChemSketch - Free chemistry drawing program. It's got a bit of a learning curve, but all chemistry drawing programs do. I use it all the time - you really can't beat free! Wikipedia - Ok, I'm sure everybody already knows about good 'ol wiki - but it is still one of my favorite resources. There is a surprising amount of good information on chemistry there, though it does read a bit like a textbook. Online Book Purchases I highly recommend
buying all your textbooks online - chemistry or otherwise. You can almost
always find a used book in good condition for 1/2 the price. Plus, you can
set up a seller account very easily, and sell the books once you are done with
them. It has been my experience that you only lose about $5-10 by
"renting" books this way (mostly for shipping). The typical college
bookstore charges anywhere between $30-100 to "rent" the same way. The one
disadvantage of buying online, is that it takes a while to receive your books in
the mail, so you will have to contact your professors for book information
before classes start. A great website to find cheap textbooks is

Scholarships College is expensive. Since most people reading my site are either in college, or will be applying to college soon, I just have to recommend FastWeb. It is a free scholarship search that covers just about every scholarship available. All you have to do is create an account and you will immediately find a TON of scholarships that you can apply for. There are a lot of scholarships out there that don't even get awarded because NOBODY applied for them, FastWeb can help you find them. Online Tutoring I am more than
happy to try to answer any questions that you have about chemistry - just
contact me. Unfortunately, you'll probably have
to wait a little while for me to respond. If there is something not
covered on this website that you need help with immediately, I recommend online
tutoring. This site offers a
